Republican legislators in Texas have been attempting to redistrict the state into a new congressional map favoring the GOP. In response, Texas Democratic politicians left the state to try to stop a vote from going through. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott in turn called for the Democrats to be arrested and brought back. Meanwhile, California Gov. Gavin Newsom is pushing another gerrymander in his state to benefit the Dems, "fighting fire with fire"; The silly thing is that neither state is honestly in play here, and they should focus instead on strengthening party brands by connecting with voters.
