I am confident that if Donald Trump were to instruct his followers to stare directly into a solar eclipse, they would enthusiastically do it. The man has a hypnotic power over his base: he has convinced his cult that he's innocent of everything he's been accused of, that everything is a conspiracy, that white is black and black is white, and so on and so on. Trump is indeed the perfect combination of Jim Jones, Al Capone and Little Lord Fauntleroy.
