"KICKING THE CAN"

 8/16/20

Let's face it: the federal government failed to contain the COVID-19 virus, so why should we expect them to succeed in providing the economic support required to stave off a recession or even a depression? Congress and the White House are at a stalemate over the second stimulus of $1200 checks per each American and extension of emergency unemployment benefits. Democrats supported a $3 trillion package, while Republicans are insisting on $1 trillion, and even rejected an offer to compromise and meet in the middle at $2 trillion... it's all truly flabbergasting.
