Education Secretary Betsy DeVos mortified the nation this past week when she pushed to cut $18 million in funding for The Special Olympics and then proceeded to defend such a cut (Fun fact: DeVos owns a yacht worth $40 million). The secretary acted as though it was necessary to crush hopes and dreams of young people with intellectual disabilities to balance her budget. Most Americans were disgusted with the proposal, which was too evil even for President Trump, who thankfully overrode it.
