The current government shutdown stemming from President Trump's insistence that there be funding for his pet project of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border (which he initially claimed would be funded by Mexico) is hurting the economy. Federal workers are not being paid, and their lives are being disrupted. Also, many Americans will not see their tax refunds until after "the wall" nonsense is settled, doing further damage. "The wall" is nothing more than a publicity stunt with motives that are probably racist and certainly not worth shutting down the government for.
