"WAIT & SEE"

12/27/17 The News-Dispatch & The Herald-Argus

The talking heads have been out in full force on the issue of the recent GOP tax bill. I honestly can't say whether it's beneficial or a shell game until I take a look at next year's paychecks and tax return. Yes, the GOP plan naturally skews towards favoring billionaires, but if the average American will indeed be taking home more on account of doubling the child tax credit and from other changes to deductions, etc., and if companies have more money to invest, it is something that's hard to argue with. I honestly don't know how interested Democrats would be in cutting taxes for average Americans if they had full control of both houses of Congress and the White House, though to their credit I do know they would try to save humane programs like CHIP, which provides funding for poor, sick children. It's silly to think that Congress cannot do both.
