Indiana 1st district Rep. Pete Visclosky has introduced legislation before the U.S. House of Representatives that could establish the Indiana Dunes Lakeshore as a national park. If passed, it is expected to draw many more visitors nationwide to the northwest Indiana region and give the state added prestige. We are truly fortunate to have the dunes in our state, and the upgrade would strengthen environmental conservation efforts.
