"A RATIONAL ADVISOR"

 The News-DispatchThe Herald-Argus

With the prospect of a contested Republican National Convention in July looming on the horizon, and the craziest campaign in American history being at the center of it, common sense would dictate that you probably shouldn't throw guns into the mix. A liberal activist took the NRA gun lobby's philosophy that more guns make the world safer, trolling the nation with an online petition to allow firearms at the GOP convention. As of now, the Secret Service, who is in charge of security at the event, has denied the petition, which had been signed by many who traditionally side with the NRA gun lobby. The truth is that it would be disastrous if Secret Service allowed firearms into such a volatile situation, making the 1968 Democratic convention look peaceful and serene.
