Governor Mike Pence and Republican allies in the Indiana House & Senate have been working to remove current state superintendent of public instruction Glenda Ritz and to make her position not elected, but appointed by the State Board of Education. Differences over a number of issues like school vouchers, funding, and well, just about everything, led to this political overreach by Governor Pence.
