The town of Ferguson, Missouri has been experiencing protests, rioting, and
looting the past week in response to the shooting death of Michael Brown, an
unarmed teenage African-American, at the hands of a white police officer.
Protesters were met with a militarized response from the Ferguson police,
complete with tear gas, armored vehicles, and military-style weapons. This was
soon followed by the National Guard coming in to
discourage rioting.
Things have calmed down for now... but fanning
the flames, if not pouring gasoline on the fire,
is a media hungry for news "entertainment," even
if that means irresponsibly aggravating the
situation.
