"ATTENDANCE MEDALS"

1/30/14 The News-Dispatch & The Herald-Argus

Many American athletes as well as Olympic hopefuls from other parts of the world are hesitant to compete in Sochi, Russia in light of recent terrorist threats from radical Muslims who have already staged attacks in that country. Some who call themselves "black widows," or women who lost their terrorist husbands to police, are seeking revenge via suicide attacks. Apparently it was enough for the State Department to issue warnings to Americans traveling to the 2014 Winter Olympics and to request that athletes do not wear "USA" logos beyond the immediate games venues.
My take is: if we Americans can't prevent something like the Boston Marathon bombing, I'd be surprised if the Russians could prevent an incident in Sochi.
