Recently, Michigan City's ten city departments underwent a "Clean Sweep" initiative, with officers being sent out to notify citizens of code violations such as grass being too high, hazardous material being stored improperly, abandoned vehicles occupying lawns, etc... I think it's a great idea and wish La Porte would do the same thing. There's no polite way to tell your neighbor their yard looks like hell...that is why we have the government do it.
