"HUNGRY FOR REALITY TV"

3/27/12 The News-Dispatch & 3/28/12 The Herald-Argus

I wonder if it will sink in with viewers that one of the messages of the hit movie "Hunger Games" is that we should lay off the reality tv and start paying attention to what's actually significant in society. Honestly though, reality tv generally exists not because of public demand for it, but because network executives have become too cheap to produce shows with real actors and writers.  I think back to how many good sitcoms and dramas existed back in the '80's and '90's compared to how few there are today, only to conclude that viewers today are relatively deprived.
