Apparently somebody dumped an alligator in Pine Lake earlier this summer. Many sightings and unofficial reports suggest it's for real. My uncle who fishes and kayaks in the area claims to have spotted it. It isn't so difficult to believe; the back-story is probably far from incredible; somebody probably got it as some kind of pet; that didn't work out so well (surprise!); and they uh... "sent it back to nature."
