I am perplexed at why people need to be practically taxed out of their homes in order to fund basic services like fire and police departments. Why do they believe such drastic increases are in fact necessary? Are people getting huge raises at our expense? So far I haven't heard a reasonable explanation for needing to raise people's property taxes exponentially.
